Jul 09, Sharonh rated it it was amazing Shelves: Selous' second book - it's amazing to note than even then in the 's he talks about the extinction of many species due to man's greed. This book is amazing.
Read it purely for an accurate idea of what life as a hunter in southern Africa was like before the Boer War. Selous experienced wonderful things.
Today it is absolutely impossible for a human to live the life that Selous lived during the 11 years covered in this book. This fact makes this a fantastic read.
